A historic and brilliant start to Malik Nabers’ rookie season was darkened Thursday night when the New York Giants wide receiver suffered a concussion.

Nabers was ruled out just before the Giants’ 20-15 loss to the Dallas Cowboys became final.

Nabers, trying to make a diving catch along the sideline with 3:21 to play, came down hard and rose slowly. He then walked to the locker room on his own and was quickly excluded.

It was a bad end to another great game for the No. 6 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. Nabers had 12 receptions for 115 yards in the game, becoming just the third rookie since the 1970 merger with double-digit catches and more than 100 yards in a prime-time game, according to NFL Research.

Nabers now has 35 catches for 386 yards through his first four career games, becoming the third player in the Super Bowl era to record 30 or more catches in his first four games, joining Puka Nacua (39) and Anquan Boldin (30) .

Whether Nabers can come back and continue his remarkable start in Week 5 is now to be determined.
