Seven players listed on Texas A&M’s initial availability report ahead of Arkansas

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Seven players were listed on Texas A&M’s first Southeastern Conference mandatory availability report Wednesday ahead of A&M’s Southwest Classic matchup with Arkansas.

Center TJ Shanahan is a new addition to the players listed as out, along with center Mark Nabou Jr., running back Rueben Owens and defensive back Tyreek Chappell. Owens and Nabou were injured early in the season and have been announced as out for the year due to their injuries.

Shanahan suffered a leg injury early in the Aggies’ win over Bowling Green. Elko said they will reevaluate his status next week during his weekly SEC teleconference.

Sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman and defensive lineman Enai White are listed as questionable for the game. Weigman, who has missed the last two games due to an AC joint sprain, will make the decision on playing time on Saturday, according to Elko.

Safety Bryce Anderson was listed as probable after suffering an injury during Saturday’s game.

According to the SEC’s Availability Report Policy, “Questionable” means a player has a 25% chance of playing the game. “Doubtful” means that there is a 50% chance that a player will play and “probable” is used when there is a 75% chance that a player will play. The SEC publishes an availability report on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday prior to a Saturday game, and then a game day report 90 minutes before kickoff.
