Travis Hunter and Richard Sherman are on good terms.

The former All-Pro defensive back drew the ire of the Colorado Buffaloes two-way star when he cast some doubt on Hunter’s ability to be a dynamic receiver at the NFL level.

Despite the friction, Hunter confirmed on the final episode of the Well Off Media vlog (3:15) that he had spoken to Sherman and that the two had resolved any issues.

“We talked on the phone,” Hunter said. “There’s no negative energy, he told me he watches me a lot. I modeled my game after him when I was younger, he was a lock-down DB.”

Hunter elaborated, saying that both had apologized and that his anger stemmed specifically from the fact that he idolized Sherman growing up.

“He told me he apologized, I sent him an apology,” Hunter said. “I didn’t mean it if I did anything wrong, it just hurt me because I looked up to him. That’s about it.”

Sherman played 11 seasons in the NFL, recording 495 tackles and 37 interceptions in 144 games. He was a five-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro and won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks.

What’s also notable is that Sherman played on both sides of the ball while at Stanford, so he has a unique perspective on Hunter’s playing style. Sherman spent the first three seasons of his career as a wide receiver, but moved to defensive back for his last two and was an impact player in the Cardinal’s secondary.

Hunter plays receiver and cornerback at the same time and has shown tremendous skill at both positions. In 2024, he totaled 37 catches for 472 yards and five touchdowns, while adding 14 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble defense.
