Sydney Sweeney practically ‘begged’ SNL cast to ‘make jokes about my boobs’

Saturday evening live star Bowen Yang has claimed Sydney Sweeney begged the cast to “make jokes about my boobs” when she hosted the show earlier this year.

The 27 year old Euphoria And Everyone but you actor hosted SNL in March this year, where she joked about rumors surrounding her and Glen Powell and her role in the superhero flop Mrs. Web.

Although Sweeney’s hosting gig was mostly considered a success, there was some backlash over the many jokes and skits about her physical appearance, including one in which she worked as a Hooters waitress.

However, Yang has now stated that many of the joke ideas came from Sweeney herself, who claimed, “She practically begged everyone.”

Speaking about the Fly on the wall podcast, Yang said Sweeney was “an example of a host who came in and understood how she was already consumed and perceived.”

He added: “She came in and said, ‘Please, everyone, make fun of my boobs.’”

Sweeney’s SNL appearance bizarrely became a political talking point, with one right-wing commentator writing a think piece entitled, “Are Sydney Sweeney’s Double-D Breasts Harbing Death of Woke?”

Commenting on the debate, the Spotless actor told NME that “I can’t do anything” about the obsession with her appearance.

When asked if that was why she wanted to stay off the internet, she replied: ‘Um, no, I think it’s important to be aware of everything and then use that information however I want. But I’m just me, that’s all.”

This echoed the thoughts she shared in an interview with Variety Published on March 18, Sweeney admitted that the constant comments make her feel like she has “no control” over the online discourse about her own appearance.

“I see it, and I just can’t allow myself to react. I don’t know how to explain it – I’m still trying to figure it out for myself,” she told the newspaper when asked about the viral backlash against her. SNL debut.

“People feel connected and free to talk about me in any way they want because they believe I have signed my life away. That I am no longer on a human level, because I am an actor. That these characters are for everyone, but for me, since Sydney, they’re not for me anymore,” Sweeney said. “It’s this weird relationship that people have with me that I have no control over or no say in.”
