The Resident Evil 9 leak is seriously getting fans excited

But will it work?

According to sources, Capcom has great ambitions for this Resident Evil 9and wants it to be the most successful Resident Evil game to date.

Those who signed up for the PlayStation State Of Play event may have been disappointed to see that there was no mention of the next Resident Evil game, despite claims that one would be coming.

The last Resident Evil game to launch was Resident Evil 4 (2023), a fantastic remake that may have implications for the next main entry

For now it’s just called Resident Evil 9although it will probably have a slightly longer title, like Resident Evil 7: Biological Hazard And Resident Evil 8: Village did.

While nothing else is actually known about the game, insiders claim that Capcom has big plans for the sequel, aiming to be a hit in terms of review scores.

This comes from insider Dusk Golem, who recently claimed that “Not only is Resident Evil 9 an ambitious game, there hasn’t been a Resident Evil game without a remake that has achieved the critical success level to have a critical score of over 90 to achieve. Hear that Capcom is trying very hard to make this great.”

They continued: “I know some will say, “Well, of course they want to make a good game,” but in this case I mean they’re hyper aware that they haven’t had a mainstream non-remake RE that has a 90 + Metascore achieved since RE4 OG 20 years ago. They hope that RE9 will be received by critics and fans as a top entry.”

As the post states, Capcom obviously wants the game to succeed, and it’s not like previous titles haven’t delivered the scares, scares, and action sequences the series is now known for.

What it does mean is that the next game should hopefully be bigger and better than all the previous games. Looking at what worked in the remakes and the main threads to synthesize the perfect Resident Evil game, what could go wrong?
