Paul Finebaum puts Saturday night’s Alabama-Georgia game in the context of SEC history

Paul Finebaum has seen his fair share of SEC football games, having covered the game for more than four decades. Even with all that experience, he doesn’t think he’s seen a better match than Saturday night’s thriller in between Alabama And Georgia.

While he appeared on Sports centerFinebaum ranked the Alabama-Georgia game as the best he has ever seen in the SEC, making it one of the classic college football games ever played.

“I have followed the SEC for over 40 years,” said Paul Finebaum. “You can see that on my face here, but I believe this is the best college football game in the SEC that I have seen in all these years. I know we often get stuck in the fact that we are prisoners of the moment, but it is an exaggeration to say that in this case we are prisoners.”

At first the game didn’t seem to be particularly competitive. Alabama jumped out to a 28-0 lead and appeared to be in complete control. However, Georgia did not give up and fought back to take a slim lead late in the fourth quarter. That’s when Jalen Milroe found Ryan Williams for a huge touchdown to put the Crimson Tide ahead again.

Georgia responded by driving down the field. However, when Carson Beck threw an interception in the end zone, the game was all but sealed and the Crimson Tide would hold on to win a huge game.

‘You saw the lead. You’ve seen the comeback. You’ve seen the end. It had everything you could possibly want, including the fact that we have a rivalry in the SEC, two of the best teams in the entire country that may or may not play again. It had absolutely everything,” Finebaum said.

“What Kirby Smart That’s right, that applies to both schools, no one left anything on the field. They put everything out there and if you ask who the better team is, the better team won, but next time it could be different.”

There’s a good chance this won’t be the last time these two teams play each other this season. The SEC Championship Game is still on the table, as is the 12-man roster College Football Playoff.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is excited about Jalen Milroe’s growth after the Georgia win

After the victory over the head coach of Georgia, Alabama Kalen DeBoer praised quarterback Jalen Milroe for his growth.

“Yeah, coming out of the gate, I really felt like steps had been made in the last two weeks of practice and some little things,” DeBoer said on ABC’s postgame.

‘And he has more ahead of him. There is more room to grow. He did a great job. We gave him some time, he felt comfortable early and he did that with his legs and through the air.
