Kate McKinnon on new children’s novel, ‘dorky’ at school, ‘SNL’ 50

Kate McKinnon joins TODAY to share her debut novel for middle school kids, called “The Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science,” which she says she wrote before even joining “Saturday Night Live ” began. McKinnon talks about the 50th season of “SNL” and then receives a surprising message from a teacher who she credits with helping shape the way she navigates the world.
