Tyler Badie injury: NFL insider shares new update on Broncos RB status after collapse

One of the scarier moments during Sunday’s Week 4 NFL slate was the running back of the Denver Broncos Tyler Badie.

During the Broncos clash with the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium, Badie was seen collapsing on the sideline after taking a hit in the lower back from Jets linebacker. Quincy Williams. He walked off the field under his own power before collapsing on the sideline.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton had no update on Badie after the match, leaving football fans across the country eagerly awaiting an update. However, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport provided one on Monday, and all things considered, it was positive.

“#Broncos are promising young RB Tyler Badie, who left yesterday’s game on a board, has full range of motion with his arms and legs and is back in Denver with the team, sources say. Very positive,” Rapoport posted on

While an injury is never good news, considering the worst fears after watching Badie collapse, it feels like a major bullet has been dodged. Badie had just one carry before leaving Sunday’s game, but Denver was able to pull off a huge upset in his place.

Moreover, Javonte Williams running backs coach Lou Ayeni told the group that Badie “everything was going to be fine, but we know Tyler is a fighter, I just saw him on the ground and went to see how he was doing.”

Before Sunday’s game, Badie recorded 86 yards and 10 carries in two games. He has been with the team since the end of the 2022 season after being selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Before the 2024 season, Badie spent most of his time on the practice squad. He played in one game in the 2022 season and caught one touchdown pass Russell Wilson.

With the reassurance that Tyler Badie will likely recover quickly, the Denver Broncos can enjoy their move to 2-2, which was largely unexpected considering they have defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the aforementioned Jets in consecutive weeks. Next up is an all-important return to Denver to take on the Las Vegas Raiders.
