Tony Winner Actor from ‘Hello, Dolly!’ Was 48

Broadway actor Gavin Creel died on Monday at the age of 48.

The Tony Award-winning star, known for his starring roles in Thoroughly modern Millie, Her, Hello Dollie! and the recent resurgence of In the forestdied after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer in July 2024. He underwent treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

His death was confirmed by his partner Alex Temple Ward.

There will be a small private gathering for the family and a celebration of life for the community at a date yet to be determined.
