WWE NXT Results: Winners, Live Scores, Reaction and Highlights from CW Network Debut | News, scores, highlights, stats and rumors

Vaseline 2 weeks ago

Shawn Michaels introduced new NXT and NXT Women’s Championships for the new CW era. Triple H helped him ask the Chicago crowd if they were ready.

Roxanne Perez was outmatched by Giulia in this fight. However, while the referee was distracted, Cora Jade laid out The Beautiful Madness with a double underhook DDT on the floor. The Prodigy hit her with Pop Rox to win.

When Giulia first signed with WWE, hype began to build for a climactic battle between The Beautiful Madness and The Prodigy. It will always be difficult to live up to that hype.

Perez vs. Giulia was a match that was not in the pure WWE style, without an edge to the action. However, it wasn’t due to a lack of chemistry. In fact, the two held their own throughout the match.

Better results will come the more the two work together. The execution will become more rigorous and hopefully they will keep that fresh edge that is so foreign to NXT.

The result was a real shock, although the arrival of Stephanie Vaquer last week was a tip-off. Jade’s arrival introduces some complications into the suddenly charged scene of the women’s main event.

This won’t hurt Giulia, who didn’t need an undefeated streak to make it big. She’ll get another chance to take the gold and probably win the rematch, as long as Vaquer doesn’t jump in line ahead of her.

The partnership between Perez and Jade is a great move, and this surprising outcome establishes this reformed heel alliance at the top of the company.

Perez definitively. Giulia by pinfall to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.

  • NXT came up with a new theme: “Millions From Now” by 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne. It’s a solid way to maintain NXT’s growing hip-hop focus.
  • The NXT Championship redesigns were necessary, especially with the color change from black and silver, although the new look is quite simple.
  • Giulia regularly outpaced Perez’s technical attack and rolled out of the crossface.
  • Vic Joseph and Booker T were ready to call it after Giulia connected with her low knee strike, but The Prodigy kicked out.
  • When Perez hit the first Pop Rox, The Beautiful Madness rolled out.
  • When The Prodigy followed, Giulia planted her on the ground with a Northern Lights bomb. Both were almost counted out.
