Trump demands ‘apology’ from ’60 Minutes’ for dismissing Hunter Biden’s laptop story before doing another interview

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday demanded an “apology” from “60 Minutes” for dismissing The Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020, noting that he will not do an interview with the TV news magazine until he gets one.

“They came to me and wanted me to do an interview, but first I want to get an apology because the last time I did an interview with them, if you remember, they challenged me on the computer” , Trump told reporters in Milwaukee. .

“They said the laptop from hell came from Russia, and I said, ‘It didn’t come from Russia. It was Hunter’s,” he added. “And I never received an apology.”

Trump, 78, was referring to “60 Minutes” reporter Lesley Stahl admitting to him during a 2020 sitdown that she refused to cover The Post’s 2020 laptop story, Hunter Biden, because “It cannot be verified.”

CBS News finally confirmed the authenticity of the laptop — which linked President Biden to the foreign influence of his son Hunter and brother Jim Biden — 769 days after The Post broke the story.

The program claims the Trump campaign “agreed to sit down with 60 Minutes” — which was set to air on Oct. 7 — but backed out after “initially” rejecting a request for an interview between the GOP nominee and reporter Scott Pelley had accepted.

The Trump campaign disputes that story.

“Fake News,” wrote Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung on X. “60 Minutes begged for an interview even after they were caught lying about Hunter Biden’s laptop in 2020.”

“There were initial discussions, but nothing was ever planned or committed,” he added.

The program said the election special, in which correspondent Bill Whitaker interviews Vice President Kamala Harris, will go on as planned without Trump.

“I would love to do ’60 Minutes,’” Trump said of possibly reaching a last-minute deal with the program. “I do everything.”

‘I asked them for an apology. Let’s see if they do it,” he added.
